Geoff Pegg
Job Title: Presenter
Find me on air: Wednesday Night 8.00p.m. - 10.00
p.m. - "Off The Beaten Tracks"
Star Sign: Aries
Date of Birth: 1950
First Job: Apprentice Draughtsman.
Favourite Music: Singer-songwriters, folk music, country (but not C&W!!!), sixties, and anything else that is good (which does not include pop music after 1970).
Favourite Food: The humble potato in any of its many and various forms - what gets served with it is completely superfluous and unimportant.
Favourite Drink: The first cup of coffee in the morning (and water).
Favourite Holiday Destination: France, Ireland, St. Abbs (and Scotland generally, especially the West.)
Favourite TV Show/Film: The Wire, The Shield, Deadwood, Neighbours (ouch!).
Most Embarrassing Moment On Air: Actually off air - I interviewed Eliza Gilkyson (American singer-songwriter, daughter of the man who wrote 'The Bare Necessities') - great interview except my recorder knocked itself off before I started, so I ended up with nothing. I was too embarrassed to tell her, but if she ever reads this...sorry.
Describe Your Show: Music that is off the beaten tracks quite a lot of the time - a reaction against the national stations' playlists. Idiosyncratic humour (some might say inane!), football scores during the season.
Best Thing About This Job: Oh, is it a job?
Fascinating Fact About Me: Er?
Pet Hate: How long have you got? - Banks, bank bosses, insurance companies, politicians who claim more in expenses than I was paid in a lifetime, banks, tabloid newspapers, people with 4x4s whose only off-road experience is in their driveway, banks. (Oh, and did I mention banks?)
