Adventure Summit
Adventure Summit - Saturday 20th February – Lakes School Windermere
Why is adventure a crucial part of many people’s lives? Does it matter whether you are a Himalayan climber or weekend explorer? What is the spirit of adventure?
The inaugural ‘Adventure Summit’ hosted by the Mountain Heritage Trust in partnership with the University of Cumbria aims to keep the debate alive for generations to come. These vital questions will be explored in depth during a full day of lectures, panel discussions, films and debates led by Chris Bonington, Doug Scott, Ed Douglas, Adele Pennington, Colin Mortlock, Julie Summers, John Porter and many others. The day will be divided into three sessions; the paths of adventure, the price of adventure and the spirit of adventure. Films will include the historic ‘South Face of Annapurna’ and the universally acclaimed ‘Your Himalaya’.
