The first of six community events asking the people of Cumbria for their views on how the County Council should save an additional £2.8million in its 2012/13 budget and make further savings in future years takes place next week.
The events are being held around the county this month to get the public involved in decisions around how the reductions in public expenditure should be managed and what the council's priorities should be.
At the events a member of the council’s corporate management team will talk people through the council’s draft budget and the financial challenges facing the authority to give them the opportunity to hear about the council’s proposals first hand, ask comments and provide feedback.
The Have Your Say consultation, which will be important in shaping the county council's budget for 2012/13, which needs to be agreed in February.
Members of the public, Cumbria County Council staff, partner organisations and other stakeholders are all being asked to take part.
