Praise for council website...
The authority was awarded 3 stars out of 4 in the Society of IT Managers survey of more than 400 council websites. It places SLDC in the top 27% of the whole country. SOCITM mark each internet site using a criteria that they should be ‘useful, useable and used.’
Assessors were particularly impressed with the ‘excellent coverage on its home page’, news items that were judged to be ‘well written and prominent’ and a ‘find my nearest/mapping facility’ tool, which was described as ‘a great feature’ that deserved to be ‘promoted across all relevant pages’.
SLDC’s Change & Transformation Programme Manager, Kate Kelly, said, “We are in the process of redesigning the website to improve the way it looks and to provide more user friendly features. We are happy with the results of the assessment and we will be using the comments and feedback we have received from the SOCITM survey to help us develop and progress the website further in the future.”
